Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2014 Christies in London held the auction Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art, which included the work The introduction of Lady Mary Wortley Montague to the Kit Kat Club by Andrew Carrick Gow. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 22,500.00 (€ 28,112.67) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Andrew Carrick Gow have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in April 2004 the work Washington'S Farewell To The Army was auctioned for USD 95,600.00 (€ 48,405.06).

Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 22.500,00 (€ 28.112,67) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
