The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,125.00 (€ 1,555.37), 61% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by André Eugène Louis Chochon; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot St Cast sold at auction in March 2015 with the realized price of GBP 2,000.00 (€ 2,765.11).
