In the British, Continental & Russian Pictures & Prints auction, the work Her first performance sold for GBP 1,920.00 (€ 2,825.41) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 700.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Anatoly Shapavalov - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The ballet lesson, which sold at auction in May 2007 for GBP 7,200.00 (€ 10,595.29).
