The auction ended at the price of USD 3,000.00 (€ 2,472.19), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Admittedly, works by Amos Ferguson have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Gully Birds, 1986 in February last year with an auction result of USD 23,750.00 (€ 21,160.01).
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Die Arbeit Man in Red on Donkey von Amos Ferguson kam im Januar 2021 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 3.000,00 (€ 2.472,19) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Amos Ferguson auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Gully Birds, 1986 im Februar letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 23.750,00 (€ 21.160,01).
