In February last year Christies in New York held the auction Outsider Art, which included the work Lamb (Fannby), 1986 by Amos Ferguson. The »bidding war« ended at USD 6,000.00 (€ 5,345.69), 50% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Amos Ferguson - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Gully Birds, 1986, which sold at auction in February last year for USD 23,750.00 (€ 21,160.01).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 50 % übertroffen
Im Februar letzten Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion Outsider Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Lamb (Fannby), 1986 von Amos Ferguson zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 6.000,00 (€ 5.345,69) und damit 50% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Amos Ferguson mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Gully Birds, 1986 beobachtet, die im Februar letzten Jahres für USD 23.750,00 (€ 21.160,01) versteigert wurde.
