Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Amon Kotei could be acquired at Sothebys in London in May 2017 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Modern and Contemporary African Art auction, the work Two Women changed hands for GBP 4,750.00 (€ 5,455.57) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 5,000.00 – 8,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Amon Kotei - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Standing female figure, which sold at auction in October 2019 for GBP 10,687.00 (€ 12,396.15).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Amon Kotei konnte im Mai 2017 bei Sothebys in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Modern and Contemporary African Art wechselte die Arbeit Two Women für GBP 4.750,00 (€ 5.455,57) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 5.000,00 – 8.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Amon Kotei mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Standing female figure beobachtet, die im Oktober 2019 für GBP 10.687,00 (€ 12.396,15) versteigert wurde.
