In June 2021 Bonhams in London held the auction Modern and Contemporary Middle Eastern Art including BaghdadiyatIraqi Masterpieces from the Madhloom and Makiya Collections, which included the work Broken Weddings In Salameh by Amer Shomali. The price achieved of GBP 19,000.00 (€ 22,139.94) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 15,000.00 – 25,000.00. Other works by Amer Shomali have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in March 2015 the work Pixelated Intifada was auctioned for USD 45,000.00 (€ 41,895.54).
