Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Mujer en un interior by Amelia Peláez was sold in the Modern, Contemporary & Latin American Art auction at Bonhams in New York in February 2021. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 6,375.00 (€ 5,271.64) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Amelia Peláez achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Las Hermanas in May 2013 with an auction result of USD 569,000.00 (€ 438,096.70).

Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 6.375,00 (€ 5.271,64) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
