Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Ambrosius Bosschaert the Younger could be acquired at Christies in London in December 2005 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Old Master Pictures auction, the work Grapes with a pear, an apricot, apples and plums in a wicker basket with a sprig of cherries, a lizard and a Red Admiral butterfly on a stone ledge changed hands for GBP 24,000.00 (€ 34,834.66) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ambrosius Bosschaert the Younger achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Früchtestilleben mit Muscheln und Insekten. in September 2007 with an auction result of CHF 721,500.00 (€ 434,706.41).
In der Auktion Old Master Pictures wechselte die Arbeit Grapes with a pear, an apricot, apples and plums in a wicker basket with a sprig of cherries, a lizard and a Red Admiral butterfly on a stone ledge für GBP 24.000,00 (€ 34.834,66) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 30.000,00 – 50.000,00.
