Artwork auctioned at four times the upper estimate price
The work Tromac by Amani Lewis was worth HKD 630,000.00 (€ 67,451.37) to a buyer in April 2021. This price was achieved in the auction Contemporary Art Day Sale at Sothebys in Hong Kong and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 150,000.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Amani Lewis; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot For Angela and her kin...in the garden (NITT edition) sold at auction in March last year with the realized price of GBP 94,500.00 (€ 112,040.39).

Die Arbeit Tromac von Amani Lewis war einem Käufer im April 2021 HKD 630.000,00 (€ 67.451,37) wert. Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion Contemporary Art Day Sale bei Sothebys in Hong Kong erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 150.000,00 um ein Vielfaches. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Amani Lewis; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit For Angela and her kin...in the garden (NITT edition) im März letzten Jahres mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 94.500,00 (€ 112.040,39).
