Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Unconscious (From the Illusion in Tehran series) by Alireza Fani was auctioned at Christies in Dubai in October 2011, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 6,875.00 (€ 4,929.38). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Alireza Fani - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Adaptation (From The Illusion In Tehran Series), which sold at auction in October 2010 for USD 21,250.00 (€ 15,294.37).
