Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
When the work The Italian Speronare; and Off the Italian coast by Alice Maud Fanner was auctioned at Christies in London in July 2007, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - GBP 600.00 but the actual price achieved was more than three times as high at GBP 1,800.00 (€ 2,673.42). Admittedly, works by Alice Maud Fanner have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Luxembourg Gardens, Paris in December 2013 with an auction result of GBP 10,000.00 (€ 12,028.45).
