Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Women and child worshipping at the cross by Alfred W. Elmore was sold in the At Home-British and Continental Pictures and Works on Paper auction at Christies in London in November 2003. It changed hands for a price of GBP 282.00 (€ 404.82) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 200.00 – 300.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Alfred W. Elmore achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Mary Queen of Scots and Christopher Norton at Bolton Castle in September 2002 with an auction result of GBP 7,637.50 (€ 12,137.74).
