Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Femme au parasol by Alfred Stevens was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in January last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 15,120.00 (€ 13,485.55) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Alfred Stevens achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Symphonie en vert in July 2010 with an auction result of GBP 657,250.00 (€ 790,269.07).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Femme au parasol von Alfred Stevens kam im Januar letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 15.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 15.120,00 (€ 13.485,55) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Alfred Stevens erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Symphonie en vert im Juli 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 657.250,00 (€ 790.269,07).
