In October last year Christies in New York held the auction The Ann & Gordon Getty Collection: Volume 2 |Old Master, 19th and 20th Century Paintings, Day Sale, which included the work Moret-Sur-Loing Au Soleil Couchant by Alfred Sisley. The »bidding war« ended at USD 1,620,000.00 (€ 1,630,763.04), 35% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Alfred Sisley have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Effet De Neige À Louveciennes in March 2017 with an auction result of GBP 7,358,750.00 (€ 8,623,728.62).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 35 % übertroffen
Im Oktober letzten Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion The Ann & Gordon Getty Collection: Volume 2 |Old Master, 19th and 20th Century Paintings, Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Moret-Sur-Loing Au Soleil Couchant von Alfred Sisley zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 1.620.000,00 (€ 1.630.763,04) und damit 35% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Alfred Sisley auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Effet De Neige À Louveciennes im März 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 7.358.750,00 (€ 8.623.728,62).
