In March 2011 Christies in London held the auction Christie's Interiors, which included the work Lord Edward II with jockey up by Alfred Grenfell Haigh. The result of GBP 400.00 (€ 452.60) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 400.00 – 600.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Alfred Grenfell Haigh achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Mackintosh, A Bay Colt With Sam Loates Up, At Newmarket in December 2003 with an auction result of USD 9,560.00 (€ 7,589.11).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im März 2011 führte Christies in London die Auktion Christie's Interiors durch, in der auch die Arbeit Lord Edward II with jockey up von Alfred Grenfell Haigh zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 400,00 (€ 452,60) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 400,00 – 600,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Alfred Grenfell Haigh erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Mackintosh, A Bay Colt With Sam Loates Up, At Newmarket im Dezember 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 9.560,00 (€ 7.589,11).
