The »bidding war« ended at GBP 6,600.00 (€ 9,743.67), 65% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Alfred Egerton Cooper - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The King's Capital: From Westminster to St Paul's Cathedral, London, which sold at auction in December 2012 for GBP 30,000.00 (€ 36,998.33).

Die Arbeit Portrait of The Marquess of Carisbrooke von Alfred Egerton Cooper wurde im Mai 2005 in der Auktion 22 ARLINGTON STREET, A WILLIAM KENT HOUSE bei Christies in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 6.600,00 (€ 9.743,67) und damit 65% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Alfred Egerton Cooper mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The King's Capital: From Westminster to St Paul's Cathedral, London beobachtet, die im Dezember 2012 für GBP 30.000,00 (€ 36.998,33) versteigert wurde.
