Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Alfred Clive Gardiner achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in November 2010. In the Travel and Vintage Posters auction, the work Guildford sold for GBP 3,500.00 (€ 4,182.49) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,200.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Alfred Clive Gardiner; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Hampton Court sold at auction in October 2012 with the realized price of GBP 3,500.00 (€ 4,351.64).

In der Auktion Travel and Vintage Posters wurde die Arbeit Guildford für GBP 3.500,00 (€ 4.182,49) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 1.200,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Alfred Clive Gardiner; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Hampton Court im Oktober 2012 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 3.500,00 (€ 4.351,64).
