In June 2001 Christies in London held the auction SPORTING ART & DOGS, which included the work Giving Directions by Alfred Charles Havell. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,175.00 (€ 1,951.91), 47% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Alfred Charles Havell achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Steeplechasing, traditionally identified as 'Racing in Ireland' in May 2003 with an auction result of GBP 18,522.50 (€ 25,806.51).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 47 % übertroffen
Im Juni 2001 führte Christies in London die Auktion SPORTING ART & DOGS durch, in der auch die Arbeit Giving Directions von Alfred Charles Havell zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 1.175,00 (€ 1.951,91) und damit 47% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Alfred Charles Havell erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Steeplechasing, traditionally identified as 'Racing in Ireland' im Mai 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 18.522,50 (€ 25.806,51).
