In the British and Continental Watercolours auction, the work Paying Homage To Phidias' Statue of Zeus sold for GBP 900.00 (€ 1,336.53) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 500.00. Admittedly, works by Alfred Charles Conrade have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Palace of Sargon At Khorsabad, Egypt (Illustrated); And Figures Before The Entrance To An Egyptian Temple in November 2006 with an auction result of GBP 5,040.00 (€ 7,484.56).
