In November 2006 Christies in London held the auction British and Continental Watercolours, which included the work Fountain of Neptune, Piazza Maggiore, Bologna by Alfred Charles Conrade. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,320.00 (€ 1,960.24), 65% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Alfred Charles Conrade - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Palace of Sargon At Khorsabad, Egypt (Illustrated); And Figures Before The Entrance To An Egyptian Temple, which sold at auction in November 2006 for GBP 5,040.00 (€ 7,484.56).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 65 % übertroffen
Im November 2006 führte Christies in London die Auktion British and Continental Watercolours durch, in der auch die Arbeit Fountain of Neptune, Piazza Maggiore, Bologna von Alfred Charles Conrade zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 1.320,00 (€ 1.960,24) und damit 65% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Alfred Charles Conrade mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Palace of Sargon At Khorsabad, Egypt (Illustrated); And Figures Before The Entrance To An Egyptian Temple beobachtet, die im November 2006 für GBP 5.040,00 (€ 7.484,56) versteigert wurde.
