Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2016 Christies in London held the auction Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art, Maritime Art, Sporting & Wildlife Art, which included the work On Wilmington Common, Kent by Alfred Augustus Glendening. The price achieved of GBP 1,750.00 (€ 2,079.38) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Alfred Augustus Glendening achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Reed Cutter in June 2002 with an auction result of GBP 20,315.00 (€ 31,422.70).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli 2016 führte Christies in London die Auktion Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art, Maritime Art, Sporting & Wildlife Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit On Wilmington Common, Kent von Alfred Augustus Glendening zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.750,00 (€ 2.079,38) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.500,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Alfred Augustus Glendening erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Reed Cutter im Juni 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 20.315,00 (€ 31.422,70).
