In March 2007 Christies in London held the auction 19th Century European Art Including Russian Pictures, which included the work The incense burner by Alfonso Savini. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 7,200.00 (€ 10,597.58), 20% above the upper estimate. Other works by Alfonso Savini have achieved even higher prices, we observed the highest auction result so far of GBP 8,750.00 (€ 10,992.17) in March 2008 for the work Italian Tales Of The Heroes.
