Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait of the artist's son Pierre, in profile to the left, bust length by Alexis Vollon was auctioned at Christies in New York in January 2001. The price achieved of USD 5,640.00 (€ 6,059.30) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Alexis Vollon - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Mathilde, which sold at auction in April 2000 for GBP 8,812.50 (€ 15,086.64).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Portrait of the artist's son Pierre, in profile to the left, bust length von Alexis Vollon kam im Januar 2001 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 5.640,00 (€ 6.059,30) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Alexis Vollon mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Mathilde beobachtet, die im April 2000 für GBP 8.812,50 (€ 15.086,64) versteigert wurde.
