Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Seascape by Alexis Matthew Podchernikoff was auctioned at Bonhams in February this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 1,000.00 – 1,500.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 765.00 (€ 721.56). Admittedly, works by Alexis Matthew Podchernikoff have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Sunset In The Hills in March 2007 with an auction result of USD 8,400.00 (€ 6,280.84).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Seascape von Alexis Matthew Podchernikoff im Februar diesen Jahres bei Bonhams versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 765,00 (€ 721,56) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Alexis Matthew Podchernikoff auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Sunset In The Hills im März 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 8.400,00 (€ 6.280,84).
