Auction result well in line with expectations
In January 2007 Sothebys in New York held the auction Important Old Master Paintings and European Works of Art, which included the work Don Juan At The Seraglio by Alexandre Marie Colin. The price achieved of USD 16,800.00 (€ 12,925.07) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Alexandre Marie Colin achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Le Giaour in October 2001 with an auction result of USD 534,000.00 (€ 593,795.17).
