Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2017 Sothebys in Paris held the auction Tableaux, Sculptures et Dessins Anciens et du XIXe siècle, which included the work The Wolf Hunt by Alexandre-François Desportes. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 70,000.00 – 90,000.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 75,000.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Alexandre-François Desportes have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Chien Devant Un Trophée De Chasse in March 2015 with an auction result of EUR 339,000.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni 2017 führte Sothebys in Paris die Auktion Tableaux, Sculptures et Dessins Anciens et du XIXe siècle durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Wolf Hunt von Alexandre-François Desportes zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 70.000,00 – 90.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von EUR 75.000,00 konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Alexandre-François Desportes auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Chien Devant Un Trophée De Chasse im März 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 339.000,00.
