Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Satyres Et Chèvre, À L'Imitation De Bas-Relief D'Après Gérard Van Opstal (1594-1668) by Alexandre-François Desportes was sold in the Maîtres Anciens - Dessins, Peintures, Sculptures auction at Christies in Paris in May last year. The price achieved of EUR 50,400.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Admittedly, works by Alexandre-François Desportes have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Chien Devant Un Trophée De Chasse in March 2015 with an auction result of EUR 339,000.00.

Die Arbeit Satyres Et Chèvre, À L'Imitation De Bas-Relief D'Après Gérard Van Opstal (1594-1668) von Alexandre-François Desportes wurde im Mai letzten Jahres in der Auktion Maîtres Anciens - Dessins, Peintures, Sculptures bei Christies in Paris versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von EUR 50.400,00 lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit EUR 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Alexandre-François Desportes auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Chien Devant Un Trophée De Chasse im März 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 339.000,00.
