This artwork by Alexandre Cabanel achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in November 2013. In the 19th Century European Art auction, the work French rebecca Et Eliézer sold for USD 161,000.00 (€ 118,330.15) - well above the upper estimate of USD 70,000.00. Admittedly, works by Alexandre Cabanel have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Birth of Venus in October 2002 with an auction result of USD 834,500.00 (€ 844,550.15).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Alexandre Cabanel erzielte im November 2013 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 19th Century European Art wurde die Arbeit French rebecca Et Eliézer für USD 161.000,00 (€ 118.330,15) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 70.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Alexandre Cabanel auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Birth of Venus im Oktober 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 834.500,00 (€ 844.550,15).
