Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Etude De Chameau by Alexandre Cabanel was sold in the Tableaux et Dessins Anciens et du XIXe siècle auction at Sothebys in Paris in June 2014. It changed hands for a price of EUR 7,500.00 achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of EUR 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Alexandre Cabanel achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Birth of Venus in October 2002 with an auction result of USD 834,500.00 (€ 844,550.15).

Die Arbeit Etude De Chameau von Alexandre Cabanel wurde im Juni 2014 in der Auktion Tableaux et Dessins Anciens et du XIXe siècle bei Sothebys in Paris versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von EUR 7.500,00 den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von EUR 6.000,00 – 8.000,00.
