This artwork by Alexander Creswell achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in March 2006. In the British and Continental Pictures auction, the work Jordan, El Khazeh At Petra; And Lebanon, Temple of Bacchus At Baalbek sold for GBP 1,200.00 (€ 1,719.38) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 600.00. Admittedly, works by Alexander Creswell have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Interiors Of New York: Six Works in September 2010 with an auction result of USD 16,250.00 (€ 11,947.65).
