Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A view of Peterhof's north front facade; and A study of Peterhof's green drawing room (illustrated) by Alexander Creswell was sold in the British and Continental Watercolours auction at Christies in London in October 2006. The price achieved of GBP 1,320.00 (€ 1,972.20) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Admittedly, works by Alexander Creswell have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Interiors Of New York: Six Works in September 2010 with an auction result of USD 16,250.00 (€ 11,947.65).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit A view of Peterhof's north front facade; and A study of Peterhof's green drawing room (illustrated) von Alexander Creswell wurde im Oktober 2006 in der Auktion British and Continental Watercolours bei Christies in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.320,00 (€ 1.972,20) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Alexander Creswell auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Interiors Of New York: Six Works im September 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 16.250,00 (€ 11.947,65).
