Auction result misses estimated price range
In January 2020 a collector was able to acquire the work Mercy Hospital, 1986 by Alex A. Maldonado for USD 1,000.00 (€ 901.47). This price was achieved in the auction Outsider Art at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 2,000.00 – 4,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Alex A. Maldonado - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work 21st Century, 5 Telescopes in One X-Ray Computer, 1980, which sold at auction in January 2019 for USD 2,250.00 (€ 1,964.38).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Januar 2020 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Mercy Hospital, 1986 von Alex A. Maldonado für USD 1.000,00 (€ 901,47) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Outsider Art bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 2.000,00 – 4.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Alex A. Maldonado mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit 21st Century, 5 Telescopes in One X-Ray Computer, 1980 beobachtet, die im Januar 2019 für USD 2.250,00 (€ 1.964,38) versteigert wurde.
