Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
When the work L'Éruption du Vésuve du 8 Août 1779, Vue de Santa Lucia by Alessandro D'Anna was auctioned at Christies in Paris in March 2005, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at - in retrospect quite modest - EUR 3,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than three times as high at EUR 9,000.00. Admittedly, works by Alessandro D'Anna have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A merry company with a couple dancing the tarantella; and A merry company eating and drinking in December 2017 with an auction result of GBP 56,250.00 (€ 63,301.14).
Kunstwerk zum Dreifachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Als die Arbeit L'Éruption du Vésuve du 8 Août 1779, Vue de Santa Lucia von Alessandro D'Anna im März 2005 bei Christies in Paris versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – EUR 3.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit EUR 9.000,00 mehr als dreimal so hoch. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Alessandro D'Anna auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A merry company with a couple dancing the tarantella; and A merry company eating and drinking im Dezember 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 56.250,00 (€ 63.301,14).
