Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work The Holy Family in a Landscape by Moretto da Brescia was auctioned at Christies in New York in January 2024, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 80,000.00 – 120,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 71,820.00 (€ 62,768.75). Admittedly, works by Moretto da Brescia have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Madonna And Child With A Dog in January 2010 with an auction result of USD 350,500.00 (€ 252,703.68).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit The Holy Family in a Landscape von Moretto da Brescia im Januar 2024 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 80.000,00 – 120.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 71.820,00 (€ 62.768,75) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Moretto da Brescia auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Madonna And Child With A Dog im Januar 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 350.500,00 (€ 252.703,68).
