Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Two Works From Vasara Series by Aleksandras Macijauskas was auctioned at Sothebys in London in June 2013, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 1,625.00 (€ 1,896.67). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Aleksandras Macijauskas - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Two Works From Lithuanian Village Markets Series; Untitled, From Veterinary Clinics Series, which sold at auction in June 2013 for GBP 4,000.00 (€ 4,668.72).
