In November 2007 Christies in London held the auction Russian Icons and Pictures Including works by Non-Conformist Artists, which included the work Six roundels depicting horsemen by Alexander Orlovsky. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 14,900.00 (€ 20,863.85), 66% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Alexander Orlovsky - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Battle between the Georgians and the mountain tribes, which sold at auction in November 2011 for GBP 58,850.00 (€ 68,701.35).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 66 % übertroffen
Im November 2007 führte Christies in London die Auktion Russian Icons and Pictures Including works by Non-Conformist Artists durch, in der auch die Arbeit Six roundels depicting horsemen von Alexander Orlovsky zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 14.900,00 (€ 20.863,85) und damit 66% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Alexander Orlovsky mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Battle between the Georgians and the mountain tribes beobachtet, die im November 2011 für GBP 58.850,00 (€ 68.701,35) versteigert wurde.
