This artwork by Alexander Orlovsky achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in April 2003. In the Important Silver, Objects of Vertu and Russian Works of Art auction, the work Cossacks sold for USD 28,680.00 (€ 23,355.05) - well above the upper estimate of USD 12,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Alexander Orlovsky - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Battle between the Georgians and the mountain tribes, which sold at auction in November 2011 for GBP 58,850.00 (€ 68,701.35).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Alexander Orlovsky erzielte im April 2003 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Important Silver, Objects of Vertu and Russian Works of Art wurde die Arbeit Cossacks für USD 28.680,00 (€ 23.355,05) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 12.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Alexander Orlovsky mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Battle between the Georgians and the mountain tribes beobachtet, die im November 2011 für GBP 58.850,00 (€ 68.701,35) versteigert wurde.
