Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Gloucester Boats by Aldro Thompson Hibbard was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in September 2008, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 7,000.00 – 10,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 6,250.00 (€ 4,438.61). Admittedly, works by Aldro Thompson Hibbard have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Country Store, Rawsonville in October 2000 with an auction result of USD 37,600.00 (€ 44,308.27).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Gloucester Boats von Aldro Thompson Hibbard im September 2008 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 7.000,00 – 10.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 6.250,00 (€ 4.438,61) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Aldro Thompson Hibbard auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Country Store, Rawsonville im Oktober 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 37.600,00 (€ 44.308,27).
