The »bidding war« ended at USD 50,190.00 (€ 39,842.82), 67% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Alberto Vargas; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Vargas Girl--"Trick or treat?" sold at auction in December 2003 with the realized price of USD 71,700.00 (€ 56,918.31).
