Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Morning, Monterey Coast Dunes 4 x 6 1/2 in. framed 8 3/4 x 11 in. by Albert Thomas DeRome was auctioned at Bonhams in Los Angeles in November this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 800.00 – 1,200.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 512.00 (€ 469.38). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Albert Thomas DeRome achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Monterey Cypresses, Monterey Point in April 2019 with an auction result of USD 9,450.00 (€ 8,436.75).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Morning, Monterey Coast Dunes 4 x 6 1/2 in. framed 8 3/4 x 11 in. von Albert Thomas DeRome im November diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in Los Angeles versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 512,00 (€ 469,38) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Albert Thomas DeRome erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Monterey Cypresses, Monterey Point im April 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 9.450,00 (€ 8.436,75).
