Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
When the work Figures skating on a frozen waterway by a fortified mansion by Albert Jurardus van Prooijen was auctioned at Christies in Amsterdam in July 2000, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - NLG 2,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than three times as high at NLG 6,436.10 (€ 2,829.08). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Albert Jurardus van Prooijen - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Sailing vessels in a stiff breeze, which sold at auction in January 2001 for NLG 17,625.00 (€ 7,712.36).
Kunstwerk zum Dreifachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Als die Arbeit Figures skating on a frozen waterway by a fortified mansion von Albert Jurardus van Prooijen im Juli 2000 bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – NLG 2.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit NLG 6.436,10 (€ 2.829,08) mehr als dreimal so hoch. Für andere Arbeiten von Albert Jurardus van Prooijen mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Sailing vessels in a stiff breeze beobachtet, die im Januar 2001 für NLG 17.625,00 (€ 7.712,36) versteigert wurde.
