Auction result misses estimated price range
In April 2013 a collector was able to acquire the work Mayor Ed Koch by Al Hirschfeld for USD 4,375.00 (€ 3,322.45). This price was achieved in the auction American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00 set by the auction house. Other works by Al Hirschfeld have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in April 2012 by the work A Night At The '21' Club at USD 8,750.00 (€ 6,614.26).
