In April 2006 Christies in London held the auction British and Continental Pictures, which included the work A mediterranean village with an extensive landscape beyond; Monks outside a monastery; Figures beside a village stream; and At Tetouan market, Morocco by Alan Stenhouse Gourley. The price achieved of GBP 480.00 (€ 692.78) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 400.00 – 600.00. Other works by Alan Stenhouse Gourley have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in November 2005 the work An Eastern Street Scene was auctioned for GBP 576.00 (€ 846.22).
