Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Floor Lamp #8, 1991 by Alan Rath was sold in the Made in CaliforniaContemporary Art auction at Bonhams in April this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 1,200.00 – 1,800.00, the actual price achieved of USD 1,275.00 (€ 1,154.89) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Alan Rath achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Wall Eye I in September 2015 with an auction result of USD 20,000.00 (€ 17,917.94).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Floor Lamp #8, 1991 von Alan Rath wurde im April diesen Jahres in der Auktion Made in CaliforniaContemporary Art bei Bonhams versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 1.200,00 – 1.800,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 1.275,00 (€ 1.154,89) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Alan Rath erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Wall Eye I im September 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 20.000,00 (€ 17.917,94).
