Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2002 Christies in London held the auction Twentieth Century British Art, which included the work Trafalgar Square, Summer Afternoon by Alan Kingsbury. The price achieved of GBP 411.25 (€ 653.57) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 300.00 – 500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Alan Kingsbury - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Self-Portrait in Duncan's Studio, which sold at auction in May 2012 for GBP 1,250.00 (€ 1,557.45).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2002 führte Christies in London die Auktion Twentieth Century British Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Trafalgar Square, Summer Afternoon von Alan Kingsbury zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 411,25 (€ 653,57) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 300,00 – 500,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Alan Kingsbury mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Self-Portrait in Duncan's Studio beobachtet, die im Mai 2012 für GBP 1.250,00 (€ 1.557,45) versteigert wurde.
