Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2021 Sothebys in London held the auction Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art, which included the work Has it something to do with Benares? by Akhilesh. The price achieved of GBP 2,520.00 (€ 2,985.52) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Admittedly, works by Akhilesh have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work An Untitled Work In Four Panels in September 2008 with an auction result of USD 30,000.00 (€ 21,305.31).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2021 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Has it something to do with Benares? von Akhilesh zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 2.520,00 (€ 2.985,52) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Akhilesh auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit An Untitled Work In Four Panels im September 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 30.000,00 (€ 21.305,31).
