Auction result misses estimated price range
In October 2020 a collector was able to acquire this work without title by Ahmed Shibrain for GBP 12,600.00 (€ 13,991.23). This price was achieved in the auction Modern & Contemporary African Art at Sothebys in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 14,000.00 – 18,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ahmed Shibrain - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Composition No.22, which sold at auction in November 2020 for GBP 47,750.00 (€ 53,305.11).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Oktober 2020 konnte ein Sammler diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Ahmed Shibrain für GBP 12.600,00 (€ 13.991,23) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Modern & Contemporary African Art bei Sothebys in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 14.000,00 – 18.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Ahmed Shibrain mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Composition No.22 beobachtet, die im November 2020 für GBP 47.750,00 (€ 53.305,11) versteigert wurde.
