Auction result misses estimated price range
When this work without title by Ahmed Shibrain was auctioned at Sothebys in London in October 2020, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 14,000.00 – 18,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 12,600.00 (€ 13,991.23). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ahmed Shibrain - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Composition No.22, which sold at auction in November 2020 for GBP 47,750.00 (€ 53,305.11).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Ahmed Shibrain im Oktober 2020 bei Sothebys in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 14.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 12.600,00 (€ 13.991,23) den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Ahmed Shibrain mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Composition No.22 beobachtet, die im November 2020 für GBP 47.750,00 (€ 53.305,11) versteigert wurde.
