Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Ahmed Cherkaoui achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in December 2015. In the 20th Century Art – A Different Perspective auction, the work Moroccan untitled sold for GBP 23,750.00 (€ 32,251.36) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 9,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ahmed Cherkaoui - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Claire de Lune (Moonlight), which sold at auction in November this year for GBP 69,300.00 (€ 80,303.63).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Ahmed Cherkaoui erzielte im Dezember 2015 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 20th Century Art – A Different Perspective wurde die Arbeit Moroccan untitled für GBP 23.750,00 (€ 32.251,36) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 9.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Ahmed Cherkaoui mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Claire de Lune (Moonlight) beobachtet, die im November diesen Jahres für GBP 69.300,00 (€ 80.303,63) versteigert wurde.
